Registration benefits

Here at WeCare we endeavour to make the lives of our community’s youngest carers as easy as possible. To achieve this, our organisation provides a range of free services in the hope that some pressures will be alleviated. However, a large proportion of young carers have not registered themselves with WeCare. This is unfortunate as by not registering, young carers will be unable to have access to our free services. Our peer support group helps to build networks, provides an outlet to seek advice and highlights to young carers that they are not alone. By registering, you will be kept informed of upcoming seminars we’re hosting for our young carers. The incoming National Disability Insurance Scheme may also be an unknown piece of legislation to young carers who may not know what the NDIS specifically entails and how it will affect them personally. It is our job at WeCare to educate carers about the NDIS and answer any queries they may have regarding it. We understand that it can be difficult for carers to take time away from their disabled loved ones so the best piece of advice we can give is to make sure you are also looking after yourself! If you are beginning to feel alone, sad or helpless seek help immediately. The understanding staff at WeCare are always on hand to listen and to do everything in our power to make your situation better. Never be afraid or embarrassed to ask for help!
